Welcome Back!

June 10, 2012-
We are back home! It's great to be back in the good old U.S.A! We had an amazing journey and we finally made it! This was the best time of our lives! Thanks to everyone that kept in touch and read our blog, I hope you learned as much as we did. Thanks everyone T and Kreed, signing off.

Heading Home.....

June 9, 2012-
All good things must come to an end...we are ready to come back home. We are boarding the plane soon to head back to KC. We learned a lot about Iran. The current leader of Iran (Mahmoud Ahmadinejad) is rattling sabers with Israel and a war may soon break out. We would like to be safe at home and we would like to see our families and friends. We have traveled 14,383 miles and we have spent almost $6000.00! This truly has been a great adventure

Iran nukes: How would the world know?

American officials are adamant. The U.S. will respond - possibly with military force - if Iran crosses a red line and decides to actually make nuclear weapons.

US military option on Iran 'ready': envoy to Israel

The United States has a military option "ready" if diplomacy fails to halt Iran's controversial nuclear program

Lunch Time In Iran!

Today we are going to have all Iranian cuisine for lunch! We are having Tah-Chin which is a saffron rice dish, ash-e anar which is a pomegranate soup, and Iranian berian. These dishes are all very delicious and are perfect for a lunch to remember.

Dehloran Tar Springs....

June 9, 2012-
We are at the Dehloran Tar Springs! According to myths told by the native people, this tar spring was the blood of a dragon that was killed by the Iranian hero, Esfandiar. Ancient Iranians made full use of this natural spring in naval and construction industries by applying the tar to render ships and roofs waterproof. This place is small, but it is my favorite place so far! I always try to save the best for last and T and I both love this place. We have to board the plane this afternoon, but for lunch we are having an Iranian feast! We will tell you about it later!

I can't believe that people built it by hand. Tomorrow Tacinda and I are going to go to a very interesting place! Check out our blog tomorrow to find out where we're going next...see you soon!

He created and ruled what was once an amazing and thriving city. Tacinda and I are loving it here. We will let you know what happens next here in Iran!

The Wailing Wall

June 7, 2012-
We are finally here! The thing we wanted to see most of all! We are finally at The Western Wall! The Western Wall(also known as The Wailing Wall) is a large ruined wall that people go see and pray at. The people that go there write prayers onto pieces of paper and stick them into the crevices of the wall. This is a very spiritual place to go to and it will teach you a lot about the people in Israel. They are very spiritual people that stick to their beliefs. We enjoyes this visit, keep checking in we are going to be leaving soon!

Welcome, To Yad Vashem

June 7, 2012-
Today Tacinda and I are visiting Yad Vashem. Yad Vashem is a large holocaust museum in Israel. It is a wonderful learning experience that will help us remember the tragedy of the holocaust. I believe that what we saw will stay with us forever. We are going to leave Israel soon, but I will never forget this place. I believe that we are going to visit The Western Wall (The Wailing Wall) before we leave. This will be wonderful...

The First Day of Adventure

June 6, 2012
K and I are ready for an adventure.  We are on are way to a historical site called the Masada Desert Fortress. We had a great adventure going inside of the Masada.  K liked it but I didn't enjoy it was over a cliff!  However we are very pleased to have learned so much.  I enjoyed the story about how they had the battle against the Jews and the Romans how they wanted to make the Jews slaves.  I felt that this story was very interesting. This was a great day, but it's getting late and we are heading back to the hotel. Keep watching for more posts. See you all tomorrow...

Today T and I used our brand new shekels to try amazing food from Falafel & Shawarma. We had some wonderful falafel and tried some delicious hummus. I am starting to love this place more and more...falafel  is a plate of small friend chickpea balls that are blended together. Israel is wonderful!

Shekels

June 6, 2012-
Today we had to transfer our money from U.S. Dollars to Israeli Shekels. One shekel in Israel is the equivalency to about four U.S. Dollars.

Welcome To Israel

June 5, 2012-
We have just landed in Tel Aviv after paying $2,756.00 to El Al Israel Airlines, we are on the way to our hotel. We are staying at The Grand Beach Hotel, it is a beautiful 4-star hotel that is $349.00  for our stay there. We are planning on being there for three days. We are planning on sightseeing tomorrow. Kreed is loading up our rental car, and tomorrow the fun starts. It has been a long and stressful day in an uncomfortable plane. We also leaned that certain parts of the country aren't safe right now. There is a war going on between Iran and Israel. They haven't started to physically fight yet, but we fear that it may happen soon. The leader of Israel is Benyamin Netanyahu, he is trying to defuse this bomb. That's why it was good that the Docaviv Art Festival happened recently. It is a large art festival that will help bring Israel together during it's tough times.

We will keep you all posted.
